About the Author
Long before tragedy found her family, Jessica Rigby was already a survivor. From undiagnosed endometriosis as a teenager, through years of IVF, the stillbirth of her daughter, Jean, and a family-shattering divorce, she had already lived through enough to break most people.
Despite these challenges, Jessica has built a blended family of six, is a mother of four and an entrepreneur who founded Big Kahunaz, a lifestyle ebike and apparel brand. If you ask her how she does it all, she'll tell you honestly: she just doesn't stop.
In 2024, Jessica's brother-in-law, Jason Rigby, was found dead in Fiji under suspicious circumstances. What followed was a public fight for answers, one Jessica continually documents alongside her husband, Chris, through the campaign 'Justice for Jason Rigby.'
Based on this experience, Jessica wrote her debut memoir While the Baby Slept, which tells her story of survival that began long before it reached the public eye.
Now, Jessica lives on the Gold Coast, wrangling four kids, drinking iced lattes, running a business and fighting for her family while still somehow showing up for all of it. What people see is her resilience. What they don't always see is what it takes to keep choosing it.
